New York ist neidisch

Kommt also der Rettungsplan?

english version:

Two months ago, we asked, „Is this the end with Holzmarkt 25?“ The urban project is in danger of bankruptcy because of a dispute with the district. Is there any movement in the matter? We’ll take a look at this. Metropolises like New York are jealous of Berlin. There is an urban village in the middle of the city. On a fallow land, like in no other city. Not in Paris, not in London and not in Tokyo. The Holzmarkt25 provides news. The latest goes like this: Creative Village and the district Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg could still agree. There is a lot at stake. A spot in the city that is not concreted and densely built. Artists, musicians and people from the club scene prevented the sale of the site in 2010. It lies on the coveted Spreeufer. Artists and people from the creative industry created the Holzmarkt together. Filled him with life and thought about his future. A construction project, the „Eckwerk“, was to be realized. Nothing came of it. In the case of „Holzmarkt“ worlds collide. Creativity and provincialism. The contrast is this: there is an urban creative project, with worldwide attention. On the other hand, a provincial farce. With the district. The Tagesspiegel had reported several times. According to him, the dispute between district and the wood market cooperative could be settled. By an amicable settlement. It is in the dispute for 19 million euros, which calls Holzmarkt25 from the district. Because of problems with the „Eckwerk“ project. Since then, the anger slips away and becomes a personal guerrilla war. Baustadtrat Florian Schmidt (Green Party) is said to be „infinitely offended that he has a claim for 19 million“. So it is said from informed circles. So is the rescue plan coming? The plans provided that Holzmarkt next to the already existing village with clubs, café gets the corner work. A place for living and working for creative people. According to the operator, 230 people already have work on the timber market. The Baustadrat is against the Eckwerk project. A provincial farce rages around the project. The finest. Some cooperative and district did not agree, that’s it for Holzmarkt25.
