Das Leben ist ein Spiel. Sagt man ja so, aber Gamer meinen das auch. Die «gamesweekberlin» ist das Sammelbecken für alle, die Bock auf Spiele haben. Vom 8.-14. April gibt es mehr als zehn Veranstaltungen für Branchenvertreter und Spiele-Nerds.
Magnet
Alle sind da. Entwickler, Investoren, Gamer und Firmenchefs. Sie alle treffen sich auf der «gamesweekberlin». Unter dem Oberbegrifft versammelt sich an sieben Tagen die Branche in Berlin. Eine Woche lang ist Berlin der Magnet für Fans und das Fachpublikum. Das Hauptquartier ist in der Kulturbrauerei. Los geht es hier am 8. April mit einem Opening Breakfast. «Quo Vadis» ist eine Entwicklerkonferenz. Am 8. und 9. April geht es bei diesem Event ums Geld. Also Finanzierung von Projekten, um neue Spiele zu entwickeln. Auch „Funding“ genannt. Dabei stehen vor allem neue Trends und Technologien oben auf der Liste. Zum Beispiel der Einsatz von Computerspielen im Gesundheitswesen.
Wie konnte sich in Japan die Spieleindustrie so stark entwickeln?
Games und Pop
Die Ausstellung «Bonus-Level Japan» findet anlässlich der gamesweekberlin statt. Die Videospielkultur Japans ist das Thema, wer hätte das gedacht. Die Frage: Wie konnte sich in Japan die Spieleindustrie so stark entwickeln. Und wie beeinflussen sich Gaming-Kultur und Popkultur? Die Ausstellung findest Du im Computerspielmuseum in der Karl-Marx-Allee.
Queer
Bei «Rainbow Arcade» geht’s um die queere Geschichte. Wie queer sind Games – das Schwule Museum in der Lützowstraße wirft einen Blick darauf. Es zeigt Exponate aus 30 Jahren Games-Geschichte. Vom 8. April bis 8. September. Das Event «Womenize! Games and Tech» am 10. April thematisiert die Rolle von Frauen. Gespräche zum Thema ‚Karriere und Stärkung von Frauen in der Tech-Branche“.

Retro, bitte
Beim Gamesfest gibt es vom 12. bis 14. April die Chance zum Zocken. Indietitel, VR, Arcade- und Retrokonsolen sowie eine Indie Arena Booth wird geboten. Auf der Bühne Interviews, Live Let’s Play, Turniere und Livemusik. Youtuberin Saftiges Gnu sowie Mikkel Robrahn sind dabei. Die Games Academy und das allyance Youtube-Netzwerk bieten Workshops zu Karreierechanchen in der Spielebranche. Das Gamefest wird vom Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg gefördert. Am 11. April können Gamer*innen beim Quiz in der Alten Kantine der Kulturbrauerei ihr Wissen unter Beweis stellen.

Life is a game. You say so, but gamers mean that too. The „gamesweekberlin“ is the reservoir for those who are in the mood for games. From 8.-14. April, there are more than ten events for industry representatives and game nerds. Everyone is there. Developers, investors, gamers and company bosses. They all meet at „gamesweekberlin“. Under the general term, the industry gathers in Berlin for seven days. For a week Berlin is the magnet for fans and the professional audience. The headquarters is in the Kulturbrauerei. It starts here on April 8th with an Opening Breakfast.
„Quo Vadis“ is a developer conference. On the 8th and 9th of April this event is about money. So financing projects to develop new games. Also called „funding“.
