at Cheese Berlin The question about the cheese can be a little longer than “Is it mild?”. Since 2012, the format has brought together cheesemakers, traders and affineurs. The latter take care of aging and care. A good cheese is far from finished with production.
Among other things, these are included Quicke’s From Devon, Jürss Dairy From Sweden and the Ogrosen cheese factory From the Spreewald. Different milks, landscapes and artisanal processes do not just end up on the same tasting plate: you can talk to the people who create these differences.
Conversations, tastings and “Cheese exhibition” take you deeper into the matter. What milk is processed, how long does the result ripen, and when is it at the right point? Anyone who once again wanted to know more than the origin information on the label will find plenty of conversation starters here. A certain enthusiasm for cheese helps. A specialist vocabulary is not a prerequisite.
