Jürgen Teller is one of the most sought-after photographers in the world. His photos of Nirvana and Kurt Cobain are recognised around the globe. He let’s Kim Kardashian, dressed in flesh-colored underwear, to climb on a sand pile; model Saskia de Brauw crawls in the grass on all fours. Teller’s oeuvre temporary display is exhibited at Martin-Gropius-Bau – includes his older works, new passion for unfavourable light conditions, unusual poses and bizarre everyday scenes. Interested in drawing comics? The sixth edition of Comic Invasion Berlin makes it possible to read some of the comics on the repertoire, thus calls for participants in drawing sessions. The initial Satellite Event programme is followed by readings, mini-concerts and exhibitions. The only nationwide theatre festival presents six days of theatrical performances for young audiences. The topics are broad. Ten national and three international productions will address the problematic thematic of bullying and fighting. In the youth theatre, for instance, topics such as growing up and the problems in a relationship are investigated. The English autodidact Bael portrays people in a pathetic manner in his works. Inspired by Expressionists like Egon Schiele and the Art Nouveau, Bael decodes the human feeling world with his distinctive style signature. Although Japanese animation counts as one of his influences, classical aesthetic in his work prevails.
