April 2017

Attila

April 14 @ 20:00 - 23:30
Berlin Deutschland + Google Karte
Attila, Musik, Live, Berlin

This teen metalcore quintet – how could it be any different - was founded during their school times in Atlanta, Georgia. Since then, their themes remained the same. Party all night long, nobody can stop me, is already familiar. The songs are predominantly breakdowns, little is sang in the refrain and with the one or other break one would like to live the Rage against the Machine. Chelsea Grin fans and contenders will get their money's worth. Photo credit: Promo

Jens Lekman

April 18 @ 20:00 - 23:30
silent green Kulturquartier, Gerichtstraße 35
Berlin, 13347 Germany
+ Google Karte
Jens Lekman, Poplyrik, Indiepop, Live, Musik, Berlin

Undoubtedly one of the most important names in the contemporary indie pop. Lekman's words are the finest pop lyric, always come with ease, and are thus accompanied by multiple instruments: guitar, ukulele, strings, bells, flutes or samples. For his latest album, however, the Wahl-Gothenburg broke new ground and went to experiment with the Samba and Disco. "Life Will See You Now" has become his most dazzling LP, which takes the drama into account and sweeps away every pain. Photo credit:…

Circa waves, Indierock, Musik, Live, Berlin

The members of the English indie rock band met at the Sound City festival in Liverpool in 2013. Three years later they already have a contract with Transgressive Records, two albums and have been touring across the UK for a while. At concerts, Kieran, Joe, Sam and Sian like to take some time for the fans, chat and take pictures. With their music, the four revive the Britpop á la 2005. Anyone who has nostalgia will be there at their…

Roosevelt

April 20 @ 20:00 - 23:30
Kesselhaus, Knaackstraße 97
Berlin, Berlin 10435 Deutschland
+ Google Karte
Roosevelt, Musik, Live, Berlin

Disco? House? Pop? The Cologne’s Marius Lauber aka Roosevelt is even more than that. Somewhere between Ibiza and Manchester, French Touch, Yachtrock and Electropop; he enchants even Pitchfork and The Guardian with his debut album. The references of the former Beat! Beat! Beat! Drummer are quickly in the spotlight: Pet Shopboys, Steely Dan, Spandau Ballet, Underworld, Still Going and always Caribou. Wonderful, cheesy retro, to which you want to dance all night long. Clark, Nathan Fake

April 21 @ 20:30 - 23:30
Funkhaus Berlin, Nalepastraße 18
Berlin, Berlin 12459 Deutschland
+ Google Karte
Clark, Nathan Fake, Rave, Musik, Berlin

The gentleman with the bourgeois artist name and his laptop has been touring around the world for almost 15 years. The ambient works of Mr. Fake, which rise to overloaded noise surfaces and then disintegrate into elegiac soundscapes promise a cathartic alternating mix of feelings on the stage. Clark uses the broken beats for his new album "Death Peak," however also concentrates on the human voice and brings the euphoric warehouse rave mood. Photo credit: Promo

Harakiri for the sky

April 22 @ 18:30 - 23:30
Bi Nuu, Im Schlesischen Tor
Berlin, 10997 Germany
+ Google Karte
Harakiri for the sky, Metal, Musik, Live, Berlin

This alpine quintet has started like a Kamikaze pilot of the European metal scene. Vocals stand parallel to Black Metal or the Subgenre Depressive Suicidal Black Metal, but with the difference of adding classical harmonies and a more versatile songwriting. Particularly in German-speaking countries, they are often associated with post-black metal movement and bands such as The Way of One Freedom. Whether the new album "Trauma" is a logical development of the way towards death wish can be seen at…

Gonjasufi

April 22 @ 19:30 - 23:30
Gretchen, Obentrautstraße 19-21 Berlin 10963 Deutschland + Google Karte
Gonjasufi, psychedelisch, Urban Beats, Musik, Live, Berlin

Part-time Yoga Teacher and Flying Lotus Buddy Gonjasufi looks out for his tormentors. Pain, confusion and despair - these are the themes of the Californian spiritualist. His sound: psychedelic trip beat. Complicated, gruff, shattered. The melody itself creates disharmony. Music is experimental, but manages to fuse urban beats with psychedelic elements. Not for the faint-hearted. Photo credit: Promo

Ghost

April 25 @ 20:00 - 23:30
Neue Welt, Hasenheide 107 Berlin 10967 Deutschland + Google Karte
Ghost, Okkult-Rocker, Musik, Live, Berlin

The Swedish heavy metal band Ghost are represeting their three albums under the band’s mascot character – a satanic priest Papa Emeritus. The identities under the masks used to set some theories, which are being unravelled step-by-step due to the lawsuits filled by five former members.  All this does not change the consistent retro sound between psychedelic rock of the 70s and NWOBHM of the 80s and the catchy vocal melodies, which helped the youngest EP to win the title…

Esben and the Witch

April 26 @ 19:00 - 23:30
Bi Nuu, Im Schlesischen Tor
Berlin, 10997 Germany
+ Google Karte
Esben and the Witch, Gothic, Prog-Rock, Electronica, Live, Musik, Berlin

The name of the band tells about the story of the band itself. Esben and the Witch is primarily a Danish fairy tale - although dreadful, the story around them has happy end. The Brighton trio is looking to find beauty even on the darker side of the life. They play with gothic, prog-rock and electronica and are always inspired by literature and nature. Their  debut album “Violet Cries” offers 'second' reality . It is precisely the freedom of expression in…

Einar Stray Orchestra

April 26 @ 20:00 - 23:30
Kantine am Berghain, Am Wriezener Bahnhof
Berlin, 10243 Germany
+ Google Karte
Einar Stray Orchestra, Postrock, Neo-Classic, Progressive-Folk, Electro Pop, Musik, Live, Berlin

Orchestral pop from Norway surprises indeed. The Einar Stray Orchestra gives the impression of maximalism. Or string choirs. Samples, drums or the piano - the sound of the scrub from Postrock, Neo-Classic, Progessive-Folk and Electro-Pop makes the ever-changing fantasy come true. "Dear Biogitry" is their new, third album concentrating on the themes of politics, church and modernity. A great path towards the great pop stage. Photo credit: Promo
